EmpowerED @ Eminent 2024: Committing to build trust between EdTech and educators
#Event
#MOOCs
The EmpowerED workshop organised during the Eminent 2024 conference, coordinated by European Schoolnet, brought together representatives from the public and private sector to answer that question. Using EmpowerED's European EdTech Ecosystem Roadmap: Towards Excellence in Educational Innovation as a starting point, the participants, representing EU institutions, Ministries of Education, governmental organisations and EdTech companies, highlighted three directions where action could be taken to improve trust in the ecosystem:
- Creating an EU list of recognised EdTech solutions and quality standards that are the same across the EU.
- Providing incentives that reward EdTech solutions which are based on research and evidence.
- Creating opportunities for co-creation and collaboration between EdTech and educators.
EmpowerED partners are now committed to exploring these directions in the last year of the project to help transition from promises to reality. Our priority is to put a spotlight on educators and give them more agency!
- We continue our efforts to activate a pan-European testbed network, creating spaces where educators and companies can interact in a mutually beneficial way. Read more in our blog article Bringing EdTechs and teachers together: the Swedish Edtest model and beyond.
- We provide teachers with the tools to be involved in EdTech co-design as pedagogical mentors for EdTech companies. If you have teaching experience and a passion for EdTech, take a look at our recently published guidelines and upcoming MOOC on how to become a pedagogical mentor!
